چکیده

ObjectiveThis study evaluated the efficacy of provisional extension to induce complete attachment (PETTICOAT) technique for type B and postoperative residual aortic dissections compared with conventional thoracic endovascular repair (TEVAR) technique.MethodsIn this retrospective study, we sequential morphologic changes in consecutive patients treated PETTICOAT between January 2016 December 2017 TEVAR 2013 2015. Outcomes included remodeling aorta-related adverse events 2 years postoperatively.ResultsForty-eight were (24 group, 24 group). Although both groups showed descending aorta, group developed significantly better abdominal aorta during observation period. The had fewer (8% vs 54%; P < .001). Aorta-related more commonly occurred poor good (P = .001; hazard ratio, 8.32; 95% confidence interval, 2.26-30.64).ConclusionsThis suggests that dissection may promote decrease incidence events. Additional studies are required confirm these preliminary findings.

Aortic Pseudo aneurysm 3 Years after Interposition Tube Graft for Acute Dissection of Ascending Aorta

Introduction: Patients with primary acute aortic dissection are at higher risk of complications, including increasing aortic aneurysm diameter, aortic rupture, aortic pseudo aneurysm, and recurrent aortic dissection. Case presentation We presented the case of a recurrent pseudo aneurysm and rupture of the aorta in the distal a...

Tight heart rate control reduces secondary adverse events in patients with type B acute aortic dissection.

BACKGROUND Although type B aortic dissection has been treated with beta blockers to lower the arterial blood pressure (BP), there has been little evidences about reduction in heart rate (HR). We assessed whether tight HR control improved the outcome of medical treatment in patients with aortic dissection. METHODS AND RESULTS From 1997 to 2005, 171 patients with acute aortic dissection medical...

Aortic dissection presenting with abdominal pain.

A 70 year-old man admitted to emergency room with nausea-vomiting and severe abdominal pain. Rebound or defense was not present. Arterial blood pressure was 130/75 mmHg in both arms. ECG revealed ST depression in derivations AVL, D1, V4, V5, V6. Serum troponin level was 0.2 (reference value: 0-0,04 ng/mL). Because of the presence of leukocytosis (15,300/μL) and high C-reactive protein (11.6 mg/...

Coarctation of aorta with complete aortic occlusion

Survival to advanced age is exceptional in patients with unrepaired aortic coarctation. We report the case of an 81-year-old man with aortic coarctation and total occlusion who was otherwise asymptomatic. Coarctation was suspected when a femoral-radial pulse delay was noted during his routine physical examination. A 70-mmHg systolic blood pressure gradient between the upper and lower extremitie...
